Khartoum- Sudan, November 25, 2019- Within the framework of cooperation between the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), and the African countries benefiting from its aid, a high-level delegation from Burundi led by H.E.M. Jean Marie RURIMURIJE , Principal Advisor in charge of mission, H.E.M Dr Domitien NDIHOKUBWAYO, Minister of Finance, Budget and Privatization, H.E.M Jean Bosco NTUNZWENIMANA, Minister of Transport, Public Works and Equipment and Regional Planning visited at BADEA headquarters in Khartoum on November 25, 2019.
The visit made it possible to examine with Bank officials the progress of ongoing operations, as well as the furtive prospects of cooperation between BADEA and Burundi.
In addition, fruitful talks were held between H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould TAH, Director General of BADEA and the high-level delegation on the subject of cooperation with Burundi and in particular in the field related to road transport.
It should be noted that BADEA’s commitments in favor of Burundi to date have reached approximately 141 million dollars to finance 28 development operations.
Finally, total funding from Arab development institutions, including assistance from BADEA, reached approximately US$527.4 million at the end of December 2018.
